Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful countries on the sub-continent, Zimbabwe can not only boast spectacular features such as ancient ruins from an unknown past, one of the largest rivers in Africa and an abundance of game, but also an efficient tourism infrastructure with a vibrant friendly local population. Our tour is a camping safari with limited comforts but unlimited adventure, Flexibility and an open mind are essential.

 DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG - ZIMBABWE RUINS

     Depart early, travelling north, to cross the border at Beit Bridge around
     noon. Continue northward towards Masvingo before turning off east for the
     Zimbabwe ruins. Camp the night (Own expense meals).

 DAY 2 - 3: NYANGA

     In the morning we visit the ruins to view the magnificent structures
     and the mystery surrounding their origination. Thereafter we head for
     the Nyanga Mountain, via the scenic mounain drive and Birchenough bridge.
     These days will be dedicated to the Eastern Highlands, (of which the 
     Nyanga Mountain is the highest in Zimbabwe), adorned with waterfalls and
     splendid views. Camping. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

 DAY 4: CHINOYI CAVE 

     Fly-in passengers join here in Harare

     After an early start, we travel westwards along the winding road
     through Harare, (lunch own expense), and on to the spectacular
     Chinoyi Cave. The turquoise water of the underground pool have to
     be seen to be believed. We will camp the night here.

 DAY 5: CHINOYI - ZAMBIA

     Leave at leisure to head north into Zambia at Chirundu, (visas 
     obtainable at the border). We will camp at Gwabi camp on the Kafue
     river, and spend the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the upcoming
     canoeing. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

 DAY 6 - 8: ZAMBEZI CANOE TRIP

     The Zambezi needs very little introduction, and justifiably so. A mighty
     river, literally boiling with hippo and crocodiles, and luring every 
     kind of animal imaginable to drink from her muddy banks. We start the
     adventure from Gwabi and then continue down the Zambezi, past Mana Pools,
     at our own pace. Paddling with the strong current, we spend 2 days on 
     the water, game viewing and birdwathching, camping each night. The final 
     day is spent at the Chongwe river in the Lower Zambezi park, before 
     transferring back by boat to overnight once again at Gwabi camp with a 
     welcome restaurant meal (own expense). (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

 DAY 9 - ZAMBIA - KARIBA

     From Gwabi we travel back into Zimbabwe over the Kariba Dam wall, to 
     camp just out of town at Mopane Bay. This afternoon we enjoy a boat 
     trip on Lake Kariba and explore the area. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

 DAY 10 - KARIBA - MILIBIZI

     Lake Kariba is over 250kms long and is bordered by excellent game 
     country and remote tribal trust lands where the locals still lead a
     very rural lifestyle. We make our way around the Lake using rough 
     roads to our camp at Milibizi.(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

 DAY 11 -12: VICTORIA FALLS

     After a leisurely start we travel to the quaint town of Victoria Falls.
     here you are free to wander around, exploring the multitude of curio 
     stalls and to view the phenomenal Victoria Falls, a mighty wall of 
     water over a kilometre wide, plunging 100 metres into a boiling torrent
     below. We spedn w nights here in the Drifters Victoria Falls Inn, giving
     those who wish the opportunity of partaking in a day's white water 
     rafting below the falls, (own expense.) Those who wish to do so must 
     make allowance for the extra expense. We will eat at a restaurant on 
     one of these two nights, (own expense.) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

 DAY 13 - 14: HWANGE

     Passengers flying out will depart here from Victoria Falls.

     We start the journey homeward, travelling via Hwange National Park,
     where we spend 2 nights in our own exclusive bush camp. We will conduct
     an extensive game drive in the park for some excelleng game viewing 
     opportunities. Camp the night. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

 DAY 15: BULAWAYO

     We leave early to head east to complete the circular route at Bulawayo.
     Here we wil camp for the night, after an afternoon visit to Motobo Nat
     Park to view this historical site. We will visit World's View, Rhodes
     grave and other sites. Enjoy a farewell meal at a local restaurant.

 DAY 16: MATOBO - JOHANNESBURG

     Depart early for the border in order to return home in the evening.
